Jubilee Sailing Trust
2008 Annual Pumpkin Festival
The Allotments Association attended its third pumpkin festival, with this 2008 event proving to be more successful than ever. The sun shone and the crowds poured into the festival grounds at the Royal Victoria Country Park venue near Netley.
The Association's soup kitchen proved to be particularly popular with requests for 'hot and spicy' Thai Pumpkin soup coming thick and fast through the afternoon. More than 10 gallons of soup, hundreds of pumpkin bread rolls, nearly 300 jars of jam and chutney (including pumpkin recipes) and an array of fresh fruit and veg were sold during the afternoon to help raise funds in support of Jubilee Sailing Trust charitable causes.
Many thanks to everyone who supported the event and to the J.S.T. for inviting the Association and for organising such a fabulous event.
Sorry to all those who came too late and missed out on the soup. Better luck next year!
